Mindset Shift #9: Everything Gets Easier When You Know More Good People

Nov 24, 2025
Hey Coach,

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been walking through the “10 Success Mindset Shifts Every Coach Needs”—the same shifts that helped me stop feeling like I was drowning in the grind and finally get control of my days.

We’ve talked about growing past old habits, taking fast action, working instead of worrying, choosing change now, cutting busywork, owning your morning, and leading yourself first.

Today is one of the most underrated shifts of all:
👉 Everything gets easier when you know more good people.

But there’s a deeper reason why this shift matters, and we’ll get to that in a moment.

A story from the trenches

When I first got into coaching, I did everything alone.

Recruiting. Scheduling. Travel. Scouting. Fundraising. You name it—I was doing it solo.

Not because I was a control freak (okay… slightly).
But because I didn’t want to bother people.
I didn’t want to look like I didn’t know what I was doing.
And I didn’t want to rely on anyone who might drop the ball.

So I powered through.
And guess how that went?
Yeah. Exactly how you’re picturing it.

I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and reinventing the wheel every single day.

Then one season, I hit a wall with recruiting. I was stuck and didn’t know what else to try. Out of frustration, I finally reached out to another coach.

Not only did she give me advice I never would’ve figured out alone—she connected me to two other coaches who helped even more.

Suddenly, something that had felt impossible was solved in 20 minutes.

That’s when it clicked:

👉 Your network is leverage.
👉 Good people are shortcuts.
👉 Everything gets easier when you stop trying to coach on an island.

Here’s the deeper truth…

This shift isn’t just about “networking.”

It’s about understanding the real reason so many coaches are overwhelmed:

👉 Coaches don’t need more effort. They need a personal system.

And part of that system is people.

You can grind harder…
You can work longer…
You can “push through”…

But without a personal system and the right people around you, you will always feel like you’re working uphill.

Systems + Good People = Leverage

When you combine structure, clarity, routines, processes, and relationships…
your whole coaching life becomes lighter.

You stop operating on chaos.
You start operating on purpose.
Everything moves faster and easier—not because you work more, but because you work differently.

This is what I call the Coach Operating System (COS).

And once a coach starts thinking in systems, not effort…
every strategy makes sense.
every decision becomes easier.
every moment becomes more controlled.

This mindset shift points directly to it.

Why this matters for you-

When you know the right people, you get:

  • better strategies

  • better shortcuts

  • fewer mistakes

  • emotional support

  • accountability

  • access to new ideas

  • more confidence

  • more consistency

  • more time back

And here’s the part coaches never hear:

The right people don’t replace your system—
they multiply it.

Your system supports you.
Your people accelerate you.

When you combine the two, your effectiveness skyrockets.

That’s why this shift is so powerful.

Imagine this version of you

You’ve got staff you trust.
You’ve got mentors who guide you.
You’ve got peers who share ideas and strategies.
You’ve got community instead of isolation.
You’ve got a personal operating system that runs your day for you.

You’re not just “trying harder.”
You’re working with leverage.
You feel lighter, faster, more confident.
You’re not pulled in 20 directions—you’re moving forward with intention.

That’s what happens when you have:
➡️ a personal system
and
➡️ the right people

Everything gets easier.

How to apply it this week

1️⃣ Reach out to one coach you respect.
Just check in. Relationships aren’t extra—they’re leverage.

2️⃣ Ask someone for advice or help.
Not because you’re struggling—because smart coaches don’t waste time reinventing the wheel.

3️⃣ Offer value to someone in your circle.
Good people attract good people.

4️⃣ Start building your personal system.
Don’t rely on random effort. Build structure. Build habits. Build clarity.

And what part of your coaching life needs a system so you don’t have to white-knuckle your way through every week?

Because everything gets easier when…
you know more good people,
and you stop trying to run your entire program without a personal operating system.
